Nevadaworks' service area includes the northern Nevada counties of Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe and White Pine. In addition, it includes workforce and labor market areas that may have an impact on the workforce system in northern Nevada.

Nevadaworks is the only agency that coordinates workforce development to meet the needs of employers in northern Nevada. Nevadaworks does this by understanding the work place requirements of employers and economic development agencies and then works with educational institutions, public and private providers, and state and local agencies to craft necessary training elements for individuals.

Additionally, Nevadaworks provides businesses, economic development authorities, educational institutions, governmental agencies and individuals unique occupational, labor and workforce statistics and information that meet locally-identified economic and employer needs.

Nevadaworks funds workforce training through J.O.I.N. which coordinates with other partners in the JobConnect Centers located in Reno, Sparks and Carson City that provide access to complete and comprehensive workforce services for employers and individuals in central locations, offering on-site resource centers, access to training resources, job order and job referral services, placement assistance, meeting and interview rooms, training centers for workshops, basic computer and resume writing skills and other specialized programs as needed. Affiliate sites and additional partner services are located throughout northern Nevada.

Nevadaworks provides funding to program service partners in its service area to work directly with a diverse population of individuals who are seeking employment, skills upgrading, or are entering the workforce for the first time.
