evadaworks is a partner in , a statewide workforce
system created to meet the needs of businesses and job seekers
in a seamless, easy to understand manner. The system serves Nevadaworks'
localities as the primary connection in bringing together businesses
with positions to fill, and qualified job seekers. The JobConnect Centers
provide access to complete and comprehensive workforce services
for employers and individuals in central locations, offering on-site
resource centers, access to training resources, job order and
job referral services, placement assistance, meeting and interview
rooms, training centers for workshops, basic computer and resume
writing skills and other specialized programs as needed. Affiliate
sites and additional partner services are located throughout northern
Nevada.
The workforce system established under the Workforce Investment
Act emphasizes informed customer choice, system performance and
continuous improvement. In order to maximize customer choice and
assure that all significant population groups are served, Nevadaworks,
in conjunction with the state of Nevada, established a process
to determine eligible providers. The process was created to insure
that significant numbers of competent providers are available
and to offer a wide variety of training programs and occupational
choices to customers. Eligible providers of training services
are those entities eligible to receive Workforce Investment Act
Title I-B funds for training services to adult and dislocated
workers. Organizations interested in becoming an eligible provider
are encouraged to download
the Training Provider Application.
